Submission Guidelines

Before submitting your listing, please review the guidelines below:

  1. Vegan Directory is a directory of Canadian businesses owned by ethical vegans that sell products or services directly to the public or other businesses.
  2. We do not include blogs, affiliate sites, multi-level marketing sites, or other directories.
  3. Animal products: We do not include businesses that use or sell animal products for human use or consumption.
  4. All listings are manually reviewed and subject to approval. Your listing will only be viewable after it is published.
  5. Submit your listing using the “Add Listing“ form for your business category. All listings must be submitted or approved by the owner(s), and the owners must be ethical Vegans. There is no charge for listings.
  6. You can select more than one sub-category. If your category does not exist, or you aren’t sure what category to submit in, please contact me.
  7. The first image in your listing submission will be used at the top of your listing. Please submit a landscape image.
  8. This directory uses Google Maps. Most categories require a physical address. If you do not want to include your actual address, see the Private Address section below.
  9. The user account created when you submit your listing is only for the initial submission and will be deactivated. After the initial submission, any changes must be emailed or submitted via our contact page.
  10. Moving forward: In 2024 we will also be adding a blog featuring Vegan businesses. If you are interested in being featured, would like to contribute, or have any questions, please get in touch with me.

If your listing was successfully submitted you will see a confirmation message on the submission page. If you did not see this message check to see that all the mandatory fields (marked with a *) are completed. If have any questions, please contact me.

Private Address?

Because this is a location-based directory, most categories require a physical address. If you run your business from home and want to keep your address private you have a few choices.

  1. If you want your business to show up on the location-based search, but do not want to include your actual address, you still need to include a city or town. In the “Address” field you can use one of the following instead of your street address: _ (underscore), in, near, or something similar. If you are not using your exact address please move the pin to a central location in your town/city.
  2. Check “Private Address” on the submission form. Please note, this option will remove your listing from the map and any location-based search. You must still include an address (see 1 above) and your city or town will still show in the address bar. For example: https://vegandirectory.ca/health-wellness/toronto/yourbusinessname
  3. Submit in the Online Services category.
  4. The Accommodations, Local Stores, and Restaurant and Cafes categories don’t have the “Private Address” option, since we assume you want people to know where you are.
  5. The Media, Online Store and Online Services categories do not require an address.
